Sargodha

SOS Children's Village Sargodha was set up in 1995 to provide for orphans and abandoned children from the area. Sargodha is a large city that is situated about 240 km from the capital Islamabad.

The SOS Children's Village currently has 14 family houses (which offer a new home to up to 140 children), a village director's house, an aunts' house, a clinic, a multi-purpose hall, a mosque, and an administrative block.

Given the demand for education of a higher standard, an SOS Hermann Gmeiner School was opened in 1997. The school has 35 classrooms, two science laboratories and a computer lab. The school can take in 1,000 pupils.

An SOS Youth Facility at Sargodha opened in 2003. It has ten dormitories, meaning that the facility can accommodate 40 teenage boys.
